The selection of power sockets and electronic switches mainly depends on copper parts

Power sockets and copper components inside electronic switches are key components to ensure smooth current flow and reduce heat generation. High quality household sockets are made of high-quality copper parts, which are resistant to oxidation, strong toughness, thick copper sheets, and less riveting. These are the four major indicators of whether the copper parts of sockets are of high quality or not.

1. The thickness of the copper sheet enhances the current passing ability and reduces the resistance of the copper component itself;

2. Strong toughness, especially when applied to socket and socket parts, not easily deformed. Even if the socket is used for a long time, it can maintain a suitable clamping force to ensure a tight connection between the socket and the plug, reducing arc;

3. Antioxidant, non rusting, reducing resistance increase and heat generation caused by rusting;

4. Less riveting, preferably with a single piece of copper as a whole, to further reduce the breakage of riveted parts and rivet heating.

A few years ago, using brass as current carrying components for sockets was the mainstream; Nowadays, using brass parts as current carrying parts is the last resort, and the quality is definitely inferior. The appearance of brass is bright yellow, with excellent conductivity and soft texture. It is wear-resistant, but its performance in terms of oxidation resistance and toughness (elasticity) is not ideal. After long-term use of brass, the surface of copper parts will be oxidized and rusted, the color will darken, and the contact resistance will increase; After repeated insertion and removal, the brass sheet often experiences poor toughness and severe deformation, making it difficult to obtain electricity or forming an arc due to poor contact, which cannot ensure safe electricity use.

At present, mainstream sockets use tin phosphorus bronze as a copper material. The appearance of tin phosphorus bronze alloy is purple red, and its biggest feature is its high fatigue strength, strong elasticity, excellent corrosion resistance, and oxidation resistance. Even after long-term use, its surface will not be oxidized or corroded, and the insertion sleeve will not deform, always maintaining a suitable clamping force.

Considering the thickness of copper parts, if the product cannot be disassembled for visual inspection, a simple method of weighing by hand can be used. The more copper parts are used, the heavier the weight of the socket.
